It will be appreciated by American readers but equally by overseas booklovers, who will consider this not only a cookbook but also something of a travelogue.
Feast of the Seven Fishes: A Brooklyn Memoir of Food and Family gives me the same warm glow as Moonstruck …and that was an Oscar-winning film!įeast of the Seven Fishes is a delightful tome. We visit the deli run by uncle and aunt and we are enveloped in Italian-American heritage. We witness breakfast being made (in fact a couple of those) and dinner being served. Much of the action is set in the family kitchen – a room of significant proportions and a great deal of charm. Did you ever watch the movie ‘Moonstruck’ with Cher? It’s one of my top ten films of all time.
